Hi all,
Antix 17 (Debian Stretch), TDE 14.0.5. Normally if a video is larger than
the screen, VLC resizes it to fit. It worked correctly on this machine
running Wheezy, as well as on several other systems. But now it doesn't
resize, it shows the video at full resolution and the VLC window runs off
the edge of the screen. Is there a fix for this?

Most likely you'll need to delete the old settings and then start VLC, maybe it'll
just work.
If not, then you have to play with the video settings in VLC or change them by hand. Look
for these lines in .config/vlc/vlcrc:
# Maximum video width (integer)
#sout-transcode-maxwidth=0
# Maximum video height (integer)
#sout-transcode-maxheight=0
