Hello
till version R14 I was used to the following workflow: After the installation of a 3rd party software, for example xemacs21.5 I installed an icon in the desktop with a link to the application.
I then moved the icon to the panel and voila it was included automatically.
However this seems not to work in R14, what do I miss?
thanks

If the application is in the menu, just drag and drop it to the panel (or drag it to the desktop and select 'copy here'). You can also right click on the panel and select 'add application to panel'. If the app is not in the panel menu, select 'add non-TDE application' and fill out the form (easier/more straight forward than right clicking on the desktop and selecting 'create new link to application'). You can click the icon in the form to change it (e.g. there is an xemacs icon).

Hi
I am finally on the R24 machine. It is a third party package and that is why it does not appear in the menu.

I do not find this
*add non-TDE application * where is this supposed to be*?*
why was the old way of coping an icon into the planed by drag and drop, removed?

It may show up after running menu > Settings > Menu Updating Tool (KAppFinder)
is not in the panel menu, select 'add non-TDE application' and fill
I do not find this
Right click on the panel, see screenshot

It hasn't been removed. You can drag and drop things from/to just about anywhere.
