Sorry to start another thread - deleted the previous one.
I had an installation that I upgraded to R14. I can confirm that not only the kabc folder is neither copied nor renames to tdeabc, but actually tdeabc does not exist at all until one first starts kmail (maybe one must even start the address book).
Once I got the empty address book, copying the content of kabc did the trick.
Regards,
Thierry

Could one just rename kabc to rdeabc before starting KMail?

I suppose - I prefered copying to make sure. I can test when R14 is available for SUSE, I've allreqdy upgraded the wheezy machines.

For info, I have filed bug 2272 for this problem. This will be fixed in R14.0.1. Cheers Michele
Hello all,
This morning I had some time and decided to dist-upgrade my laptop. This time kabc was automagicaly renamed to tdeabc. I guess some update script was updated...

If you are using nightly-builds or preliminary-stable-builds, you have updated version which already do this renaming :)
See resolved bug 2272.
