Hello.
This problem happens to me as well. Sometimes when I cut and paste files using Konqueror it wil crash with a signal 11 (SIGSEGV). It looks like Bug 3008:
https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3008
This happens both when I'm cutting and pasting to the same Konqueror window, or to a different one. I have in detailed list view, Konqueror R14.0.7 in TDE R14.0.7
If I open again Konqueror and try the same cut and paste again it will always crash again. But if I rename the destination folder to something random then the crash will not happen.
I hope this helps!

Thanks, I will try by renaming the destination folder...
But, when the bug will be resolved ?
Cheers,
André

Just curious why you're cutting and pasting when dragging and dropping is more efficient (click drag/drop click).

I usually find keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V to be most efficient for me!

Me too and I do not understand the question, because it is quite ok to use the shortcuts. Also this does not answer or resolve the problem.
I think it is important to have a way to reproduce this. Can you provide details and steps.

I asked because I was curious, now I'm baffled. How are you navigating and selecting files/locations? Ctrl-C/X and Ctrl-V alone takes 4 finger movements. The whole select drag/drop (to anywhere, visible or not) move/copy(/link) process takes two clicks (as does text select/copy > paste).

Don't forget the mouse movement ... but I usually open a terminal and copy/move from commandline, that's faster than gui stuff.

it is a matter of taste and habit. I have two hands one for the mouse (select the files) and one to press CTRL+X/C/V. The second hand is also useful if someone wants to selectively mark files for cut/copy, which I do not know how to do with only one hand using the mouse.
In any case both should work. I recently experience some konqueror crashes that I did not experience before.

I never really thought about it but it seems what I do is select files and destinations with the mouse with the right hand and, press ctrl/v and ctrl/x with the left hand. Dividing the labor :)

For me, cutting / pasting or dragging / dropping, Konqueror crash anyway !

Can you explain what is the setup. Debian/Buster 14.0.7, so that someone can reproduce it.
I use 14.1 - I created now two directories in /tmp and put some files in one of them. I switched to detailed view and copy-pasted whole directory over and single/multiple files. FS is ext4.
I did the same on NFS.
regards

My setup is Debian Buster, TDE and Konqueror R14.0.7. Ext4.
Problem is that it's hard to reproduce, since problem only happens 10 % of the time or, less! Most of the time it works fine.
I will try different operations many times to see if I can get something reproducible. It might have to do with exact filenames, since renaming destination directory solves the problem.

I will try to

I have observed this problem:
- About 10% of the time Konqueror crashes upon a file copy using either mouse or keyboard.
in both these setups:
- Ubuntu 14.04, TDE R14.0.4(ish), ext4 - MX-18.3 [Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)], TDE R14.0.6, ext4
