On Ubuntu 20.10, GTK3 applications don't theme correctly. The menus are to small and selections aren't highlighted.
Hello, Jacob,
I suspect that TDE's GTK3 theme engine is broken because of the radical changes the GTK developers have introduced, and has no further development at the moment (at least this is what seems to be happening). Thus, it must be only compatible with some very old versions of GTK3 (quite a pity because GTK3 is all over the place now as more and more apps drop GTK2 support).
I hope that this will be fixed some time in the future... For the moment I'd suggest using some sensible GTK3 theme or a GTK2 alternative.

If gnome could stop rewriting GTK for longer than 2 years, that'd be great.

You can use gnome-tweaks to adjust the font sizes. (The one I have installed is GNOME Tweaks 3.34.0, presumably GTK3).

GTK4.2 is/was due this month, so you can probably count on GTK3 development to have stopped. :P
So I've heard.

So I guess now we who use OpenSuSE just have to wait (who knows how long?) until GTK4 shows up in their repositories. :-)

There is no OpenSuSE for us or anyone else to use. We do have openSUSE, as your .sig indicates.
Tumbleweed does have GTK4 devel and tools packaged. :(

Ok, new font scaling and family issues on shed their light of doom on the horizon. Oh, how I hate the GNOMEs ...

hahaha, I came to this conclusion in 2001 and switched to KDE. It is now exactly 20y and the Gnomes did not change their attitude. They even got bolder.

I didn't wait that long to switch, but mainly because the default Gnome theme was grotesque. I didn't just switch DE. I switched from RedHat to Mandrake, and used it barely more than the pittance I used Redhat. I got up to reasonable speed when I found SuSE @8.0.
