This may be off topic. It looks like the successor to Leap 15.6 will be Leap 16.0:

and it will be based on the Adaptable Linux Platform (ALP):
https://en.opensuse.org/Features_16.0
The website states that Leap 16.0 will have a non-immutable version, although ALP does contain a "minimal, immutable operating system". I just wonder whether ALP will still be based on RPM.
It may be too early to worry about it as Leap 16.0 will not be available until at least fall 2025.

SUSE says this is to address the Industry's needs. Seems to me to "copy" Apple. While I do understand the security approach, I wonder if this can appeal to the average user (it does not to me and made me drop completely Apple's products) and doubt that any ALP user will want to install TDE.

I will install TDE if ALP is the only option and it does not limit me too much in what I normally do with the installation. But this is all to be seen.
