Hello list,
I am currently using TDE 3.5.12 on Debian Squeeze and want to upgrade to latest version.
Although I have added the entries from ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net (...) trinity-v.3.5.13, I cannot upgrade because some package seems to be missing.
Here is the output from apt-get upgrade, it contains the URL of the package in question.

Please upload the new i18n package, since we want to use Trinity in the German language.

I would say that the state of mirrors is very measly - i18n are not a single missing packages. For example, folder kdebase-trinity is empty. On the mirror tokra.lv is not available whole folder trinity-v3.5.13.

Thank you very much for your information.
Since this seems to be a general problem and not just translation-related, I'll probably just wait a couple of days for the files to upload.

Why not get the missing ones from "nightly builds" till the main repos are all sorted ? http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-nightly-builds/de...

Thank you very much, the nightly-builds seem to work! I didnt know about that location.
The files are happily downloading at the moment (it's also a lot more packages (over 200) being upgraded then the few that have been in the main repository).
Looking forward to trying 3.5.13 out this weekend.

Excellent idea! I wish I had thought of this earlier...
The nightly builds repository contains an exact bit-for-bit copy of 3.5.13, and will continue to do so until the sync is complete. Please remember to REMOVE the nightly builds from your sources.list file after 3.5.13 is published, as failure to do so will result in a severely broken system if you upgrade after the nightly builds restart from GIT.

Hi, what I don't understand is that here: http://www.trinitydesktop.org/installation.php#debian are installation instructions for sqeeze although it is not complete yet.

tim already explained why this is so (unfortunately) and there is also a temporary workaround (using the nightly builds as long as the 3.5.13 repos are incomplete). see the list archives.

place this line in your sources.list and comment out all other lines referring to ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net (this should be one line, not 3):
deb http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-nightly-builds/de... squeeze main
go to a text console (important! don't dun the update within your TDE session. somewhere in the middel of the upgrade kwn dies and leaves you with a konsole that egerly awaits your input but your keyboard does not work any more) and do:
# /etc/init.d/kdm-trinity stop # apt-get update # apt-get upgrade
check, that all 3.5.12 have been updated:
# dpkg -l|grep trinity|grep 3.5.12
no output schould apear.
# /etc/init.d/kdm-trinity start
and you'r back in business.

Hi Nikolaus, I'll try that. Thank you.
Hi Nikolaus,
# dpkg -l|grep trinity|grep 3.5.12
I've got lots of references, and what ist worse: my system is totally messy. Especially I can't start a display manager. Watch my next message!

could you please post your sources.list and the list of packages from 3.5.13 and 3.5.12 with these commands:
# echo $(dpkg -l|grep trinity|awk '/3.5.12/ { print $2 }')
# echo $(dpkg -l|grep trinity|awk '/3.5.13/ { print $2 }')

Please post also, after doing apt-get update, any errors in the log from
apt-get dist-upgrade -d |tee /home/yourusername/dulog
We will see what (if anything) is failing to download.
A full dist-upgrade here this morning, using new "official" TDE repo, was flawless (except kdmrc wants to load a non-existent theme file, easily fixed)
BTW, kde-i18n-de-trinity upgraded here, as did -es and -en_GB
Try also (in a root shell) even if you did before:
/etc/init.d/kdm-trinity stop apt-get -f install apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade
If prompted to keep a configuration file or install the package maintainer's version, do the latter unless you have a known good reason not to.
If you use a proprietary graphics driver, reinstall it and reboot
