I've been checking out the amarok-3.5.13.2 package. What ever happened with the MYSQL integration since the 3.5.13 release? --and
I tried to compile an older version 1.4.10 . It errors out with a KDE error ---- sounds like something else removed from KDE, or my bad setup.
checking for KDE... configure: error: I can't find the designer plugins. These are required and should have been installed by kdelibs root [ /sources/amarok-1.4.10/build ]#
Meanwhile, I know there was some releases in between 1.4 and 3.5.13. I'll look for one of them.

created a link in /usr/local/lib kde3 -> trinity fixed most of the issues.
This is with a fresh install of LFS. so this has been an install from the 3.5.13.2 tar packages I've had very few issues after all the dependencies were made available. I will post package specific issues still to be dealt with.

I have Trinity 3.5.13.2 with Amarok 1.4.10. Works fine. I would expect later versions of Amarok to cause problems, because they were intended for KDE 4 were they not?

The trinity-amarokcompiled OK. The music library, I think will have to be loaded a little at a time. It seems to fault out after about 16 hrs of indexing. The DB file turns out to be nearly 2Gig before crashing.. I'm not at home now,but I'll check next week with smaller library and I'll post results as I go.
Dave
PS The whole need for Amarok is the database interface so I can start removing redundant files, so I'll add alphabet letters one at a time as I clean them out.. The library as of now is around 130,000 songs, and I have about 1,800 LP's to transcribe yet...little at a time.
Hopefully I didn't add any KDE4 stuff, unless its hidden in the trinity packages.

I removed './trinity/share/amarokrc' and all files in '.trinity/share/apps/amarok/'. then I picked 2 directories/Artists, made sure there were no cover image files in the directories. then, as root, tried amarok again, it came back and showed 100%, but never returned control. amarok apps was still running. I let it run for 1 hour. I was monitoring the system through TOP, and watching the swap memory diminish to zero and then the system locked. There are only 10 music files in this sample run.
Was the MYSQL option removed in version 3.5.13.3? is MYSQL-5.6.13 too new?
BTW, I install Ubuntu 13.04 on my dell-laptop, along with the trinity install for 3.5.13.2, and amarok runs like a charm, and has the MYSQL option.
Might try it on this system if I can't fix this LFS/TRINITY-3.5.13.3 mix. I still think it's in the set/environment setup.

It's known that mysql support in amarok is buggy.
There are a few words about it here:
