Hi all,
the message is self explaining : when booting my computer, kdm autologin fails. I have to enter by hand my password to get into kde. Any idea where the problem is ? (I'm using kubuntu-kde3.5 jaunty)

Hi again,
I searched the web. I found that someone had the same problem here (http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=41226) but no solution. Some more information about it :
auth.log : Oct 23 18:19:06 denis-portable kdm: :0[3839]: pam_unix(kdm-np:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost= user=denis
Any idea what the problem might be or what I should check ?
Thanks,
Denis

Finally, I noticed that : mv /etc/pam.d/kdm-np-kde3 /etc/pam.d/kdm-np solved the problem. Maybe there is something wrong with kdm-kde3 package ?
I also noticed that : aptitude install kdm-kde3 seems to succeed but with the following error message : cat: /etc/X11/default-display-manager: no such file or directory [: 19: =: unexpected operator Don't know if it's a big matter or not...
Regards,
Denis
The new Karmic release fixes that issue :)
