The clock is telling the time reliably, but the date disappears when I reboot or shutdown and start again later. It is easy to persuade it to return, but this is not my laptop and I need it to Just Work.
Any ideas, please?

Can you send a screenshot of both the panel clock area without the date and the same area with the date?
Thanks!

Herewith. The no-date screenshot was taken as soon as I logged in and got the desktop. I then fiddled* and brought the date back as shown in with-date.png.

*fiddled = open up configure clock. Change the font for the date (to anything other than the one it is set to). Click "OK" and then click "apply". Rinse and repeat, this time re-choosing the original font, i.e. the one I want.

Looks like a clock redraw bug I have seen one or two other places. Can you file a bug report on this?
Thanks!
