Yeah, just sometimes I would rather be doing other things with my time. Maybe
this evening, to while away the long hours ...
I just followed the instruction - send an empty mail to the indicated mail
address - and everything worked as expected (I think)
I only got your message from the old list, however.
I got duplicate emails from both of you, one from each list, so that means you
have both succeeded in subscribing.
Yay! so the new mailing list works. Rome wasn't built in a day.
My problems with email subscription, Kmail crashing, the ghost emails, etc., I
believe might all be connected to my networking problems; which indeed are
still not resolved. I think I got disconnected as I was trying to follow
through on the subscription email, and somehow that corrupted the results.
As for networking, more on that later. Right now I am going through all the
possible permutations of network-manager, network-manager-gnome,
network-manager-tde, wicd, etc. At present, using wicd with no
network-manager at all seems to be no better and no worse, but I still can't
go online/offline at will, and am forced to reboot periodically.
Let me mess around with this networking a bit more, though, as I have got lots
of great suggestions, but thus far none of them work for me.
