Hi,
I'm replacing my old KDE4 desktop with the lastest release of Trinity.Does anybody knows an alternative to kdeconnect, to sync files, notifications, etc. with tablets and smartphones? I wouldn't like to reinstall KDE4 for it.
Thanks!! -- Diego.

Not sure what you can find in tde regarding that. There is some work going on from one of the new developers on syncevolution integration in TDE, but don't know the exact state. Worst case, you could try running kdeconnect inside Trinity, hopefully you will not have any conflicts. Otherwise you would have to look for other programs that do something similar. Cheers Michele

Thanks Michele. I was looking, in fact, for a TDE or not TDE alternative. kdeconnect is great, but maybe somebody knew another.
(For example, I'm using udiskie to manage mounting and unmounting USB disks)
Cheers, -- Diego.

In TDE R14.1.0 there is a new systray utility for that which is quite useful, although it is somehow still in a primitive state. Have a look if you are testing out the nightly builds ;-) Cheers Michele

I read the question twice to understand what Diego is looking for, but it was not clear to me. Putting different things together did not make it very clear either and I don't know the kdeconnect. All together there is not such thing in TDE that he's looking for. However partially might be. There is Card/CalDav integrated in TDE by Tim, but I never tried it out. I also did not try out other syncevolution capabilities except the syncml and the file part. I'm not sure if Diego is at the level to understand what is happening in the background and I decided to keep silent on the subject.
Diego, can you explain what is your goal - ex.: what kind of protocols you are targeting?
regards

The description of 'kdeconnect' in Debian:
"Description-en: connect smartphones to your KDE Plasma Workspace Tool to integrate the KDE Plasma Workspace with your smartphones and similar devices. It adds a set of plasmoid, plugins and services to the KDE Plasma Workspace. At the moment it only supports Android based devices."
I havre not seen anything like that in Trinity, also Trinity does not have Plasma?+?, so kdeconnect won't work in TDE.
Here is the output to console from pluging in my smartphone: "usb 4-1: new high-speed USB device number 2 using ehci-pci [696026.058980] usb 4-1: New USB device found, idVendor=22b8, idProduct=2e83 [696026.058992] usb 4-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [696026.058999] usb 4-1: Product: MotoE2(4G-LTE) [696026.059005] usb 4-1: Manufacturer: motorola [696026.059010] usb 4-1: SerialNumber: TA0930BADU:
Digikam. digital photo app, has no problem mounting the device and doing file management.
I am sure you can do what you want manually,I don't know of any automagic stuff.
