Is there a way to define different text colors for different desktops? Trinity 3.5.12 on Squeeze.
Thanks! Lisi

No, but you can define different background colors or wallpapers. That should be enough for what I assume to be your purpose. No?

Thanks for the answer, but no. If I have four different desktops with four different backgrounds, I need four different text colours. This is to show to someone partially sighted. Without trial, I don't know what combination of colours suits him best. So, I have four desktops with very different styles and colours, and I need four text colours to go with them.

On KDE 3.x all I do is right click on the desktop, go to configure desktop, then to in the background section look to the right and click on advanced.

And can you then set each desktop to have a different colour of text? If so, could you possibly elaborate on exactly what you do after you click on advanced? I can only set the one font colour for the system, not a different font colour for each of the desktops.
I rather think that this is the time for a wish bug, but I was just making sure that I hadn't missed anything.
Thanks, Lisi
Someone partially sighted...
I put on my thinking cap and had this very simple idea: you could make custom wallpapers with nothing but solid color and a number somewhere on the image: center, corner, you decide. So Desktop 1 would use Wallpaper-1.jpg with a very visible "1" somewhere in the image, Desktop 2 would use Wallpaper-2.jpg with a very visible "2" and so on.
It's the only other idea I've had so far.

Thanks Luciano for your reply, but sadly it isn't what I am after!! The text in question is the text under the icons. The desktops all have different backgrounds, which is enough differentiation. But different backgrounds need different text colours.

why not just create 4 dummy users, which each ones background/text colour setup to what you like to be checked ?

Hi, the problem is the following: if you define a dark desktop, you need a light text color to see the text and vice versa. So, if you define several desktops they must have a similar backgrounds to see the text. What Lisi an I have found out so far is: there is only ONE text color for all desktops.
