I'm not sure what part of gtk TDE does, but saw this on an update today and was wondering if it's related to TDE or not.

GTK is Gnome's widget set. TDE provides a few packages for theming it, but otherwise has nothing to do with it. The warning above seems to relate to GTK documentation and should have absolutely nothing to do with TDE.
