Dealing with lots of pdf files.
I am logged in to a ftp site with my browser, I want to open numerous pdf's, kpdf sems to replace content rather than open a separate instance or tab.
Just checking to see if thats all kpdf can do :-(
TIA

kpdf doesn't do tabs, but it'll open all the windows you want. My guess is it's something to do with how the browser is handling the pdf's.

I am using Iceweasel, Debians Firefox.
Useing the browser I click on pdf file, get ;save as or open with' dialog box. I can open multiple pdf files as single instances with another pdf viewer, just not kpdf.
When I am in kpdf viewing a pdf, go to file open, or open recent, choose another pdf, it replaces the current pdf. This vaguley reminds me of single document vs multidoc interface some word processors use.
The only 'opens all the windows you want' scenario that works here is from the cli, in a dir of multiple pdf's, 'kpdf package.pdf &' .

Another way, if you save the pdf files, is to use Krusader, configured to use a program like kpdf to display such files. In their directory select each one and hit F3 to open it in a new tab in KrViewer.

When using kpdf, I usually open PDFs from Konqueror (file manager), never from within kpdf. When opening a PDF from a website, now I use Firefox's internal viewer, but before that existed I used kpdf, and it always opened a new window even when there were other kpdf windows already open. I don't know why it's not doing the same for you, sorry.
