Hi Guys,
PCLOS Trinity 14.0X
For the past few days I have been getting a "Session locked by user" message with only user can unlock this session.
I can enter my password and get in with everything working OK. If I reboot, hard reset, I don't get this message again when I login. I may not see this again for two or three days, and then its back.
I don't normally leave the computer switched on so I might restart the computer twice a day.
Anybody any clue as to why this has started to occur.
Thanks in advance for any help.

That could be the screensaver (TCC > appearance > screen saver).
"Below that is a check box labeled Require password to stop screen saver. If it is checked, when you click a key or click a mouse button to end the screen saver and return to your work, you must enter a password."
Hi David,
Thank you for your reply.

Thanks, I've just been and looked at that ! The check box is empty.
I did check it and saved then went back and removed the check and re-saved, just in case.
I'll see if it happens again on Saturday. I'm in hospital for the day tomorrow.
I have the same issue, and I have never used the "screen lock" option in the start menu.
Mine is caused bythe Nvidia driver, from vendor, for my Quadro card, does not play well with TDE.
You don't mention video card info or drivers, could help.
ps, my solution was to rename the executable responsible: /opt/trinity/bin/kdesktop_lock to kdesktop_lock.bk

I think this is a problem with kdesktop_lock in general, perhaps also related with different themes. The best would be to file a bug https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org, so that we do not forget. there are few bugs against kdesktop_lock already

I've decided to adopt Greg's solution. I'm the only user of this machine so killing the lock isn't going to affect anybody else.
PS. The last time I tried to file a bug report, it wanted a password and wouldn't let me.
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your reply.

My machine is one of those using an AMD processor with the video built in. Its about time I scrapped it and bought a new one.

I like your solution. Thanks for the info.

Caveat, when an update comes along I have to repeat my efforts, manual intervention. Not an issue since I switched to TDE stable.

Thank you for your note:
Understood ! Though I haven't had an update for months. Going down the new machine route, I would like to try Q4OS Trinity. I have installed it for a friend and he loves it.
