Hello,
I have choosen FR-language in first and number two US-language. An icon FR is present down right. Many times, suddenly, the icon becomes US and the keyboard is QWERTY. Is it a bug or how to stop this change ?
Thanks, Cheers. André

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated!

Sorry, just a joke which obviously didn't work.

My last joke (concerning religion) also didn't go over well. This is a tough crowd. It's easier to get laughs at a NYC comedy club.

But seriously, folks ...
Try localepurge, then choose only those locales which you want. But I am not sure if your issue is not perhaps deeper, and others may be better equipped to help you.
Also, check the TDE keyboard tool (mine is kept in the systray); then do the same thing there. Choose those languages that you actually use.
If it is a deeper issue, then I am not sure where to start looking.

No problems, it was just a nice teasing.

I prefer to keep two languages, french and us.

Check TDE-keyboard doesn't solve the situation, but what can I do in the XKb configuration ?

When using localepurge, in my own experience, I find it's best to whittle it down to my own language for purposes of using the system itself; thus I choose only en and en_US.UTF-8.
Now, I could be wrong, but I would recommend something similar (or parallel) for yourself, fr and fr_? (you fill in the blanks here).
You can change settings for localepurge with this command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure localepurge then click the appropriate boxes.
For the TDE keyboard tool, I have several languages enabled, because it's easier for me to insert text in a document by switching languages. However, even here I find that the keyboard tool sometimes appears to change languages on its own, apparently without any interaction from myself. I consider removing those extra languages, but it doesn't seem to harm anything that I am working on, and all I have to do is click to return it to my primary language.
