Hello everyone, Ark from TDE and from KDE (4.8.3) can't extract a multi-part zip file. I wanted to know if it is a bug or if it is just a missing feature.
I will upload soon my PCLinuxOS TDE to filefactory.com and since they have a size limit of 400mb, I will split my 1.5gb .iso file in 4 parts by zipping it in a multi-part zip archive.
Q7Zip, File-roller, PeaZip support extracting these archives, so I wanted to know if it is normal that Ark doesn't support it? Maybe it could be a feature in the next TDE release? KDE don't even have it...

No, it doesn't ,apparently. But you can use one of the other choices. Or, if i remember corectly, the "cat" command to join the parts later : cat archive1 archive2 >new archive. then unzip.Maybe aswell, test the resulted archive later. English is not my first,so i might spelling it wrong from time to time :D Waiting for your tde remaster :) . I tried to love kde4, i really did. But it's so bloated, that in comparison with kde 3 or trinity,it's like a damn elephant. I don't need nepomuk, strigi, all the damn background services.Just want a stable, fast, and easy system, and for that PclinuxOs is a great base.
It doesnt work, cause the Ark zip backend, unzip, doesnt do multi-part zips, i think. So,one must choose another one,or concatenate the zip parts, test it, then unzip the resulted archive: (cat archive1 archive2 newarchive)
p.s .Already sent one message, never showed up in here. hope this one is more lucky And yeah,my english is plain bad :) edu
