Now, this is interesting. I accidentally ran r14-xdg-update on the new

test

account that I had created, and now when I logout and login again with that new account, it also exhibits the same r14-xdg-update infection.

The only think I can think of is your TDE install is somehow broken. I've seen this error msg before and have always been able to fix it.

I'm out of ideas. Sorry I wasn't very helpful.
