I want to get my sister off her Macdows onto Linux. Any suggestions how to deal with her long commitment to Quickbooks? Web searching for migrate from Quickbooks to FOSS or Linux is not going well.

Hi Felix,
If she's going to use Quickbooks then she'll need some version of Win. Quickbooks since 2002(ish) does not play well on Linux. See this answer:

Even if she's willing to give up QB for some other program (GnuCash, ??), it's generally considered easy enough to setup a Win 10 Virtual Machine so that a person should just stick with QB (especially if they need to send/share any financial data to someone else).
Best, Michael

A much better idea is to switch to Linux, and give up the idea of ever getting rich enough to need that kind of software.

Hi,
One thing she could do is to switch to QuickBooks Online. It is a cloud - subscription based version of QuickBooks. Since everything works in the web browser, not desktop app compatibility is required.

I am using kmymoney since 2006. I am not sure but I think there is well defined import/export format supported by kmymoney.
