well, I totally screwed up my Debian Lenny install last night. I was
fighting an application error, made some bad choices, and ended up with
a non-useable system. X wouldn't work & I could not get apt/aptitude to
do anything worthwhile.
SO, 9pm last night I started the squeeze upgrade process. just about
finished it last night ( gnome login worked, but KDE was not to be
found). That was about 12:30am..
6am I was back at it.. oops, ran out of "/" file space, that sucks..
removed a bunch of useless apps.. got some space back. Installed
trinity.. fixed a few squeeze upgrade issue, and about noon today I had
my system back. My wife's desktop looks just like it did yesterday,
except it says "trinity" on the left hand side:) I doubt she will
notice. Her kmail is up & running, as is my gnome login.

New subject: [trinity-users] new squeeze+trinity user
Did you have to rename .kde to .trinity or make a symlink for that, so that
you got the old settings + mails ?

I had read on here before that you rename .kde, but all I did was copy
everything from .kde to .trinity, so I have both. kontact showed up with
all the folders, but no accounts. I just had to add her few accounts
back in- 1 local, 1 local IMAP, and her username_IMAP account from the
domain..

ok, that sounds not such a big issue. I'll still hesitate to move my office
box from 3.5.10 (from lenny) to 3.5.12 (tinity) although I've migrated all

trust me, I was THERE.. I was playing with trinity
on my laptop, but
didn't want to rock the boat on my desktop. It has been so nice just
letting Lenny run its course... But I am GLAD I did it! things just seem
snappier, it all works well, new versions of things are nicer... I am
happy now. I was pushed kicking & screaming, but 6 hours later,
everything is great.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that has days like these.... :p
