I changed a laptop to Debian Jessie, sadly to discover afterwards what I should have looked up first, that Trinity is not yet fully released for Jessie.
I should have looked. I should have looked. I should have looked.
Mea maxima culpa.
So anyway, I put the mirror.xcer.cz mirror in place, but haven't found the "install full desktop" meta-package to start the ball rolling.
Can someone remind me what it's called?
Arigato,

If you *really do* want the meta of everything you need plus what you probably don't, it's "tde-trinity".
I would really like to see a "tde-lite" meta although I usually do mine from a custom package list.
Here, jessie + r14 from mirror.xcer.cz is a very nice, stable system with only an occasional glitch after upgrade.

Thank you. It's a work machine, I have so much disk space that I can't fill up with my personal stuff, so it doesn't matter. :^)
While Xfce works, there are wonderful little things in Trinity that I greatly miss.

Glad to hear it. I look forward to the official-whatever in the hopefully near future.

0 upgraded, 384 newly installed, 1 to remove and 3 not upgraded. Need to get 362 MB of archives. After this operation, 907 MB of additional disk space will be used. Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
Bah! Only one gig for the entire functioning desktop? Trivial!
:^)

Yes, here too. One glitch initially after my first upgrade. I made a mistake and couldn't retrieve it acceptably, so I reinstalled, and now love it. I'm a little chary of upgrading. ;-)
But for Jessie it does have to be from Slávek. The main repos aren't Jessie-ready yet.

The only reason there isn't an official TDE release for Jessie is that when R14.0.0 was released, Jessie was still a testing distro and so it didn't make sense to have an official TDE build for a still-changing distro. Anyhow I used TDE on Jessie for over a year prior to its release and never had any major problem. Cheers Michele

I'm glad it's available, and it certainly is working. A SSD arrived and I did Jessie and TDE on it last night, simply copying my home directory over so all the settings, look, feel, etc, all came over flawlessly.
