You mean select an icon? Click the big icon symbol to the right of Name 7
Description in the TDE Menu Editor. If you want to actually create an icon
image, any graphic editor should work.

TDE 3.5.13.2 on Debian Wheezy.
Gmail refused to accept Icedove for IMAP on the grounds that it wasn't secure
enough. So I downloaded Thunderbird. I was able to set up Gmail IMAP
successfully. But there was no mouse-accessible way of launching it.
I managed to get an icon shortcut on the Desktop, then turned my attention to
getting it in the menu. kappfinder didn't find it. So I created an entry in
the menu with the Menu Editor. But I can find no way of putting an icon
beside the entry.
This is a dry run for TDE 14 on Wheezy, so the problems and solutions might
not be the same anyway. But I would like to complete the dry run.
And the only way I can find to get at the menu editor is to add an icon to the
panel and right click on it - very tedious. :-( Is there a better way? If
so, what?

You mean select an icon? Click the big icon symbol to the right of Name 7
Description in the TDE Menu Editor. If you want to actually create an icon

and select Edit Item (or Edit Menu).

Thank you, Gerhard! That worked and the Thunderbird entry now has an icon. I
think I'll now leave well alone! So I haven't worked through the other icons
to watch some of them failing.
Oh, I can't resist it. But later. I'll report back again.
