Hello,
Sorry for my bad english. I have a question trinity: How can I use the
keys to change volume and brightness? In gnome they work fine and in
kde 4 too. The keys are Fn+Up-Down-Left-Right.

Open up kmix, go to Settings and choose "Global Shortcuts" You can
set the master channel volume controls there.
