I am working remotely on someone else's computer and am having trouble getting the key accepted. I have followed these instructions, looked up a few minutes ago: <quote> Packages are signed using GPG key ID A04BE668. To install the GPG key you can use any public GPG keyserver, for example:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key A04BE668 </quote>
I have tried both <quote> # apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key A04BE668 </quote> and <quote> # gpg --keyserver certserver.pgp.com --recv-key A04BE668 </quote>
Both have failed.
"gpg no valid OpenGPG data found"
Help!! I must get this sorted out urgently. I am installing Adept, and I assume that if she tries to use it, it will complain about insecurity.
Lisi
Hi Lisi!
you've used the wrong keyserver, please try:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net --recv-key A04BE668

Thanks, Nik! Meanwhile her U&^$&^( ISP has slowed me down to the point of unusability, presumably under their "fair use policy", so I have had to stop, and shall have to try again later. Grr.

Hi Lisi!
Things will most likely get even worse, as yesterday the EU "parlament" decided to drop net neutrality. Well, I was told TCP/IP works with doves, too :-/

Well, the thing about dropping net neutrality was a typical effect of democracy. Unfortuntely most internet users wanted it. It was only needed to re-formulate question. Not asking about "quality of service", but shouting "Free mobile facebook/Google/???!". I've seen such actions in many mobile operators' ads, and users were happy. The only hope in mesh networks, or "digital post doves". MCbx

Keyserver is not wrong - my key is on "all" public gpg keyservers, so it is theoretically possible to use any public keyserver. Unfortunately, sometimes have some servers outages. For example, as previously mentioned keyserver on gpg.cz that did not work until now :(
There is also a possibility that I could add into preliminary stable builds repository deb package with my key - as is on:
http://www.axis.cz/linux/debian/pool/axis/a/axis-archive-keyring/axis-archiv...

That would be a big help. This is the second time I have had this problem with this particular remote person and as you see I tried two keyservers this time. It wouldn't be so bad if her computer were here and I could get at it easily.
The deb package worked really well.
