Is there anything I can do to make the Chrome window open in front of

That's not a bug, it's a feature -- TDE knows Chrome shouldn't be opening
at all on a Linux system, so it puts it in an appropriate place. :)
:-) It is the only software he actually asked for - and he did offer to do
without if it would solve this problem. There was something or other that
Chromium wouldn't do on my system (something to do with Flash) and he didn't
like Iceweasel, so I didn't argue too hard.
Seriously, though... First thing I'd fiddle with
is Focus Stealing
Prevention in Chrome.
Window menu (top left) / Advanced / Special Window Settings / Workarounds
check Focus stealing prevention, select Force. It'll be set to None; I'd
try Low, and if that doesn't do the trick, try next higher setting until it
does.
Doh! Thank you, Dan. It didn't occur to me that the logo was a menu. :-( I
tried everything on the right. (Yes, I know that the TDE menu is a TDE logo,
but I don't use icons so it isn't at the forefront of my mind.)
All is now well. Well almost, but that is another thread.
Thank you, Dan.
