It looks like there is a regression in the prerelease R14.0.7 whenever I double click a PDF file in Konqueror it crashes saying nspluginviewer caused the signal 11. If I right click and do open with Kpdf it opens fine.
Yep, seen that before. This netscape plugin is a PITA. Whenever I do an update. Lots of file associations are bonked. For example audio ogg files, which are associated to multimedia apps like Amarok, are suddenly associated with netscape plugin.
Is the plugin even needed anymore?
Kate
Should I uninstall it?

IMO yes. Flash has died a painful death, and that was the only application that really used it. You may also deactivate it in konqueror.

I uninstalled the plugin now when I click on a PDF I get the following:
There was an error loading the module Netscape plugin viewer. The diagnostics is: Library files for "libnsplugin.la" not found in paths.
If I click the OK button the PDF does open in Konqueror.

Thanks Kate and Nik, I found the issue under `embedding` Netscape was still listed first. I put KPDF first and now it works. I am going to leave konqueror-nsplugins-trinity off the system for now as long as it doesn't cause other issues.

Note: weather sites, like NOAA, etc.. still use flash for animated RADAR. I continue to install Adobe Flash for Firefox (from Adobe) and have no problems with pdf viewing.
