Here is a discussion by the SUSE Security Team of their review of KDE6. For me it cast a lot of light onto the murky behind- -the-scenes D-Bus and Polkit.

Thanks for the link Mike, it was an interesting reading. TDE mostly relies on DCOP. There is some usage of dbus to provide some services, but the interfaces are well defined. The remaining usage of dbus is system dependent rather than TDE dependent. Cheers Michele
