Hello, my name is Dima and I'm a Puppy Linux contributor and Debian fan.
I wish to create a Debian (or Ubuntu, if it won't work) LiveCD with Trinity and I don't know how to do this. I've seen the Ubuntu ISOs with Trinity and I want to do the same, but with Debian and a different choice of packages.
I read about DebianLive and the manual method to construct an Ubuntu LiveCD, but the former's documentation is lacking and the latter seems complicated and outdated. At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to use Debian Live (according to http://live.debian.net/manual/en/html/live-manual.html) and I'm kinda stuck.
So ... my question is: how can I do this (or, how did you create the Ubuntu LiveCD)?
Thank you! Dima

Sorry I can't help with the Debian CD process as I am unfamiliar with it. For Ubuntu I use Reconstructor, which is an older (and no longer available) Python script that automates much of the tedium. There is a new Web-based Reconstructor version that is currently available, but it appears the owner can charge you for the privilege.

Not 'exactly' what you are asking, but, it will make a live, installable cd of your Debian install. Install your system with all the packages ( trinity) etc you want, then run the 'remastersys-xxx' command you want
http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/debian.html
Of all the methods I have tried this one ended up the easiest for me.
I have been building Squeeze+Trinity live cd's for some time. I use my own scripts mainly as I found official Debian-Live quite difficult to get exactly what I wanted.
Remastersys is really good. I use it sometimes. It is designed for stable; a squeeze version is available but you will need to modify the current version.
You need installed live-initramfs 1.177-1 (get from snapshots.debian.org) and grub-legacy.
http://www.remastersys.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=3sugievt9bg9or5p0nhlbr...
is worth reading.
In addition you need to hack the script live-initramfs script "15autologin" (I posted details on the above link) and remastersys-installer.for Trinity to work properly
If there is any interest I could post here more details. My Live ISO (700mb) is available on request, would appreciate some testers!.
