keyboard layout switching
by Ilya Dogolazky 21 Nov '15

21 Nov '15

Hello ! I would like to understand how keyboard layouts are switched by the Trinity. More precise: 1) what happening when user clicks on the flag icon? Some external program called or some TDE process communicates with X-server (and how)? 2) what part of Trinity source code do I have to read to understand it? 3) is it possible to send some D-Bus message (or something similar) to emulate user's click on flag icon and/or select particular language from the list of available keyboard layouts? 4) the same as #3, but vice versa: can an external program ask TDE "what keyboard do we have right now"? 5) If answer to #3 is "NO", is there any chance for a patch doing it to be included into TDE ? 6) What is the situation with questions #3 & #4 in the "mainstream window managers" (like KDE, Gnome) nowadays ? Cheers, Ilya D.

R14 update error dialog boxes on boot
by Keith Daniels 21 Nov '15

21 Nov '15

It has been a month since I asked how to turn off the R14 update error dialog boxes, that appear on boot up, with no response--that I recieved anyway. The post was on Sept 30th. Since the post did appear on the list, should I take no response to mean that no one knows how? All I really need to know is where that file is being run from, which I haven't been able to find with grep. I can figure out the rest myself. Keith

Trinity translation system proposal
by François Andriot 21 Nov '15

21 Nov '15

Hello, AFAIK, we still have to find a convenient system to allow contributors to update the Trinity translations (tde-i18n). I've found a free software that looks promising to me: https://weblate.org/ Has anyone experienced it before ? François

New splash proposal for amaroK
by Alexandre 16 Nov '15

16 Nov '15

Hi, This morning I had some time to play with Gimp, and I made a new splash for amaroK. It is based on a few KFaenza and Masalla 0.8 (0.8 is now gpl, by the way) icons. Tell me what you think, and if someone is interested in seeing it replace the old one. Have a great day! -Alexandre

New icon theme proposal for TDE: Masalla 0.8 is now GPL 3 compatible!
by Alexandre 05 Nov '15

05 Nov '15

y browsing kde-look.org, I saw that the new version of Masalla icon theme 0.8 is now GPL 3 compatible. It means that it could now be used in TDE. In fact, TDE really needs it! [😊] I did nothing about it. I didn't even asked the author; it just happened! Here you can find it: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Masalla+Icon+Theme?content=170415 http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Masalla+Icon+Theme?content=170415 or you can download it from my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B37cGFKZ9yM8MGdOdklSOEtEaU0/view?usp=shari… Have a great day! -Alexandre <https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B37cGFKZ9yM8MGdOdklSOEtEaU0/view?usp=shari…>

Missing posts
by Baron 01 Nov '15

01 Nov '15

Hi Guys, I don't know if there is a problem or not with the web archives for "trinity-devel(a)lists.pearsoncomputing.net" The archive is no longer ordered by date and there seems to be a lot of posts missing. Indeed looking back I haven't had a post from the "devel" list since 25th October 2015. A post I made to that list yesterday hasn't shown up either :-( -- Best Regards: Baron

An icon theme compatible with TDE
by Alexandre 25 Oct '15

25 Oct '15

Hi all, I just wanted to share that I found a new icon theme that is fitting and working very well with TDE. Icons are colorful and easy to understand. Maybe one day it could be packaged with TDE? Here is the download link: http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php/Masalla+Icon+Theme?content=170413 Thank you! Tell me what you think! -Alexandre

Autobuild system upgrades
by Timothy Pearson 06 Oct '15

06 Oct '15

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA224 All, I just wanted to let you know that I have overhauled the aging autobuild system. The new system is much faster; provided there are no other commits pending in the autobuild queue, new builds will be scheduled within 15 - 30 minutes of any commit to the TDE source tree. Most builds will be scheduled within 15 minutes of a commit; larger modules such as tde-i18n will be on the higher end of the specified range. You can check the status of any builds on QuickBuild via this URL: https://quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/~trinity/+archive/ubuntu/trinity-ni… I hope this new, improved autobuild system helps make your TDE development work faster and more enjoyable. Thanks!
