AFAIR it is now located in tdepowersave, which also makes sense. We had discussions before that tdepowersave needs a review and modernization. Isn't it better to integrate it there and of course the brightness control should be integrated in kmilo as it is already now. I am not quite sure, but I think to remember that it talks to tdepowersave via dcop. There should be always one source of truth.
If I find the motivation to finish the ksysbacklight implementation - I'll make that available too. ( I wouldn't hold you breath on that being next week :)

Did you have a look at the updated tmix? I am interested in feedback from real life experience with bluetooth, PULSE, ALSA, OSS.
