Debian Jessie (which is also the base for Devuan Jessie) moves to
limited LTS June 6th. Stable TDE 14.0.4 does not support Debian
Stretch. PSB TDE 14.0.5 supports Debian Stretch and reportedly
works well, but there are still frequent updates which would tend
to preclude rollout to stable deployments.
(Devuan Ascii which is based on Debian Stretch made RC on May 9th
and should be Stable soon.)
What please is the plan for Stable TDE 14.0.5?
And what please is the plan for TDE 14.1.0 (which I have not tried).

R14.0.5 bug list has been frozen and there are currently 8 bugs remaining to be closed.
Slavek and I have been
discussing about it and we think there may be a release sometime in summer, once those
bugs are fixed.
After that we plan to work on preparing a roadmap for R14.1.0, i.e. identifying the bugs
to fix and a possible
timeframe for release. It is about time anyway :-)

principle to using some app from KDE 5 if we could make it work in TDE but
at this time there's nothing we need from KDE 5.
Devuan has been very helpful. However Quagga is essential for our VPNs.
Stretch Quagga was systemd-only but they recently restored SysV compatibility
in Buster Quagga and that version works fine in Stretch / Ascii without any
need for backporting, and just in time for Jessie EOL!

Your post reminds me of what seems to be a minor bug, when I update apt,
aptitude or synaptic I get error saying it was looking for ascii but
found stretch, simple fix is to change trinity repos to stretch, but
would be nice if the repos worked as ascii on a devuan ascii install.
