Hello,
Just after the migration Debian Buster to Bullseye,
1) I cannot launch desktop-trinity automatically without login & password, as before with buster. The file /etc/tdm/tdmrc has the good lines to a have automatic login.
2) Many messages display errors about DCOP_SERVER not running, when I click on an application icon linked to trinity. (konqueror, konsole, kedit, kate... and many others...). (you can see the message on the attached file) "check if the "dcopserver" is working"
Thanks for your help,
Cheers,
André

Another information in Konsole mode : dpkg-reconfigure tdm-trinity , gives : insserv: warning: current start runlevel(s) (empty) of script `tdm' overrides LSB defaults (2 3 4 5). insserv: warning: current stop runlevel(s) (0 1 2 3 4 5 6) of script `tdm' overrides LSB defaults (0 1 6). insserv: warning: current start runlevel(s) (empty) of script `tdm' overrides LSB defaults (2 3 4 5). insserv: warning: current stop runlevel(s) (0 1 2 3 4 5 6) of script `tdm' overrides LSB defaults (0 1 6). insserv: script rpcbind: service portmap already provided! insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $localfs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $remotefs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $localfs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $remotefs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $localfs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $remotefs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $localfs insserv: warning: could not find all dependencies for $remotefs tdm.service is a disabled or a static unit, not starting it.
In /etc/init.d/ I have two tdm files : tdm and tdm~ Why ? Do I have to start : tdm, tdm-trinity ?
Thanks, André

Hi André, best guess is that something went wrong in your migration. TDE works fine in Bullseye, I used that for all the time Bullseye was testing. dpkg-reconfigure tdm-trinity does not bring up any error here, other than kicking me out of my sessions unexpectedly :-( tdm~ is probably a backup file, if you made any changes... Hope this helps.
Cheers Michele

Hello Michele,
What does it mean, the messages above ? When I boot Bullseye, I'm in command-line mode (no Xorg, no graphic), invited to connect in root (and password). I have to type "killall tdm" to be connected on the trinity desktop.
So, what to do to be directly on the trinity desktop ?
Cheers André

Hi André,
not sure of the details of the error message, would have to check them out. But it's the rest that caught my attention. Normally a TDE system should boot up and present you the tdm login screen. But you mentioned you are in command prompted and "invited" to login as root. Do you have some errors and a message asking you to provide the root password to login to rectify the issue or pressing Ctrl+D to continue? If you see this message, give it a Ctrl+D first (without logging in) and see what happens and if you get the tdm login screen afterwards or not.
Cheers Michele
