Hi there.
Thanks to the previous post re "Icons on task bar" I took a look at
.trinity/share/apps/kickerrc, one more time to track down the source of
that annoying little '*'.
It's in the system tray, but I can't find the systemtrayapplet.desktop
file to examine what app it belongs to, so I can remove it.
It's the little orange circle between the calender icon and the network
icon.
Any hints?

Hi
I am running Ubuntu 14.04 and installed trinity R14 on top of it
I just compiled GNU emacs and tried to start it.
it crashes with
emacs
Undefined color: "FOREGROUND"
xemacs is fine.
emacs works in Ubuntu. Any idea?
this is a serious bug.
thanks

Hello
till version R14 I was used to the following workflow:
After the installation of a 3rd party software, for example xemacs21.5
I installed an icon in the desktop with a link to the application.
I then moved the icon to the panel and
voila it was included automatically.
However this seems not to work in R14, what do I miss?
thanks

Where do I find the start up file(s) in oder to edit them. Debian Wheezy and
3.10.13.2.
I _have_ STFW, RTFM (see my other plea for help). Google has a passion for
KDE4. Pity I don't share it.
Thanks.

Hello,
While trying yet again to get audio working I managed to clobber my
TDE 14 setup. Want to reinstall from live CD (on USB stick). Tried
the Ubuntu one; the installer didn't let me complete the partition
setup. Tried the most recent Ubuntu nightly; can't even get to the
GUI or installer program.
I don't care much for what I've seen of PCLinuxOS. Maybe I can mess
around with Debian/Exe again. But really, isn't there something I can
use and recommend to others that just works???? (i.e., with
functioning wifi and sound)

Hi all,
I have a question about KPDF under Trinity 3.5.13.2, Debian wheezy. I have problems with fonts in
PDFs built using LaTeX - see attached screenshot (I hope it makes it to the list). Notice how the
upper curve of 'o' and 'e' is not visible. Same happens with lower curve of 's'. This is pretty
annoying. Is there any way to fix this? On my other machine that still runs KDE3 this problem
does not exist, so there should be a way of fixing this. Perhaps I should install some
system-wide set of fonts?

What about a Konqueror plugin for Firefox/Iceweasel? I can 'open in
Iceweasel' from Konqueror, but not the other way around. Being able to
extend the Iceweasel Application panel with file extensions/URL types
that can be opened in a running Konqueror instance would be really
nice.
...Editing mimeTypes.rdf looked promising, but it appears to be
limited to base executables - '/opt/trinity/bin/konqueror' works (new
instance), '/opt/trinity/bin/kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing' is
ignored/won't show up as an option.

The right pane only has a line of text until you start
opening/selecting items in the list. Prepending that text with 'Search
for/' (select a file type...) might make the functionality clearer.
It sounds like you haven't discovered TDE's extensive help sections.
Clicking the title bar ? mark and then the File Associations text
entry field provides basic information. Clicking the Help button
(bottom left), provides a lot more - foreground in the screenshot.
It might also help if it was menu > Trinity Control Center, instead of
menu > TCC > TCC to actually open the control center. I don't see any
advantage to duping the control center menu in the main menu and it
makes opening the control center harder/less obvious. Using the
control center menu provides a third help option (> ?, < Help) via a
side menu question mark icon.
Lets face it, iceweasal is 10,000% more browser than konqueror.
Where do I change this (TDE? IDK) default broswer to iceweasal when I
click on a web link in a kmail incoming message?
If it runs long enough, I can switch to iceweasal in its file pulldown,
but 75% of the time I am looking at its crash report popup, which for
the purposes of registering a bug report is worthless because the debug
symbols are not compiled in. So the report it does file is basically
konqueror crashed, no further details. Those I believe must get routed
to /dev/null since not one of them over the last 5+ years has ever
resulted in a reply (from anyone) asking for further details.
Thanks folks.
Cheers, Gene Heskett
