Hi
I'm trying to get skype sound to work but apparently the monkeys at MS removed
alsa support and replaced it with pulse, which is rubbish. Even though I have
pulse enable (pclos - ali's remaster), it still doesn't show up. Is there a
fix to re-enable alsa or the like?

Last post ack the list archives was in August 2017, after which the list
was silent, and my msgs were apparently routed to /dev/null. But I
didn't unsubscribe.
My ISP has been known to block/bounce but pearsoncomputing.net was in
their "whitelist", I put it there yonks ago.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back.

Hi!
I am on preliminary stable builds on debian stretch.
After the last update i am getting an r14-xdg-update error 9 on login.
It complains about permissions and tells to look at
r14-xdg-update-validation-test9.txt. There is one line in here
<Filename>kde-kchmviewer.desktop</Filename>
No such file exist anywhere.
What i am supposed to do with this?

Good day everyone,
when I try to open
info:coreutils/dd invocation
in konqueror it fails with this error message:
An error occurred while loading info:coreutils/dd invocation:
Could not start process '/usr/bin/perl' '/opt/trinity/share/apps/tdeio_info/kde-info2html' '/opt/trinity/share/apps/tdeio_info/kde-info2html.conf' '/opt/trinity/share/icons/crystalsvg/22x22/actions' 'coreutils' 'dd invocation'.
The mentioned files are all there. I may miss some package which I haven't installed as this is a new system but I can't figure out which one.
Any advice or hint would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Stefan
I'm experimenting running some things with a seond user. It's possible to
configure a key (in my case "Pause", which seems I never ever pressed in my
life an does nothing otherwise) to do "swtch user".
However, you then have to select this user (which the is locked, although I
never asked for a lock).
Would there be any way to have a "move to the next user" function? As I only
have two users, I fon't need a choice :)

Hi All,
In a boneheaded move, I ended up deleting quite a few of my .config files
(user/.trinity/…) and while I’ve restored/fixed almost everything back to the
way it was, I can’t seem to re-figure out how I used a mouse click in
keyboard shortcuts.
I had this working globally:
{Windows Key} + {left mouse click} = Minimize application under mouse cursor
If you get use to it, it’s insanely useful and much easier than tracking down
each app’s minimize button.
# # #
I thought I had originally set it up in the Trinity Control Center:
Trinity Control Center >> Regional & Accessibility >> Keyboard Shortcuts
(Global Shortcuts >> Windows >> Minimize Window)
But I can’t get that to take a mouse click in the “Configure Shortcut” popup.
{Windows Key} + {space} works.
AFAIK I didn’t install anything else to do this:
michael@local [~/.trinity/share]# which file xbindkeys xdotool xautomation
easystroke xev
/usr/bin/file
/usr/bin/xev
# # #
So a couple questions:
- Does the “Configure Shortcut” popup take mouse clicks for anyone else?
- Can anyone point me in the right direction on what I need to dig back into
to restore/fix it’s config so mouse clicks can be use in keyboard shortcuts
again?
Thanks All,
Michael
greets, everybody . . .
it occurred to me that some of the immediae scaling issue might be resolved by installing the trinity remix of libreoffice. but, alas, it seems that neither the keyserver nor the repository can be found. has libreoffice-trinity been deprecated?

while continuine the seemingly unending search for a way to make the GPD Pocket work acceptably with TDE, i found a file, /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90-scale, whic seems to address the sacling issue, at least for fonts, on a range of desktops. here are its contents:
gsettings set com.ubuntu.user-interface scale-factor "{'DSI-1': 14, 'DSI1': 14}"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1
gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2
gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1
gsettings set org.mate.font-rendering dpi 168.0
i wonder: is there a line for TDE that would work here to improve things? the scaling of the other desktops is just fine and orks well. alternatively, is there another window manager that might work with TDE and be more amenable to scaling?
