I changed a laptop to Debian Jessie, sadly to discover afterwards what
I should have looked up first, that Trinity is not yet fully released
for Jessie.
I should have looked. I should have looked. I should have looked.
Mea maxima culpa.
So anyway, I put the mirror.xcer.cz mirror in place, but haven't found
the "install full desktop" meta-package to start the ball rolling.
Can someone remind me what it's called?

Hello, list,
I couldn't resist passing on the quotation, which hopefully means that I
communicated the essence of TDE. And while I was at it, I have forwarded the
rest of what Mike said. (With his permission, of course.)
This is the blind person for whom I have made enquiries. I have encouraged
the idea that he might be able to render it accessible to the blind. I
stressed how accessible friendly TDE is in general.
I gather a lot depends on what TDE uses in the way of Qt. I knew he would ask
about that, and had tried to look it up in advance (sorry about my ignorance:
without looking it up, I just know that something in that area has been
changing), but sadly the website was down, so I said that I would find out
for him, though I haven't yet done so.
Still, if someone could render TDE accessible to the blind, that would be
great. It is so good for the partially sighted. And this is the chap who
re-coded the sound-chip firmware on the Raspberry Pi because the sound was
too poor to be usable by someone blind.

Hello Lisi,
I enjoyed the talk about Trinity at the weekend. I will certainly be
having a look at the online resources about it and trying to find out if
it might be at least on the way to accessibility for me.
Here's a nice quote for you:

Hi all!
When I start any java awt application (e.g. "arduino") on TDE, the fonts art antialiased.
When I do the same thing on e.g. FVWM, then only the fonts of the java applications are not antialiased, all others are.
Does by chance anybody know why that is so? I thought it's something with the Xresources, but setting these on fvwm to the same values as under TDEdoes not kame a difference.

People do know that the Trinity site is down? Or is it just me. I have tried
3 different browsers, but I can't change my location!
I suppose that that may mean that the list is down. Bother...

Hello all,
I am running R14.0.0 on openSuSE 13.1. I have enabled keyboard layouts in the
control center, with a "German Switzerland" keyboard (french layout) as
default and a US Keyboard as alternative.
I never had problems with this setting in the previous versions, but now,
sometime, without any action from me (that I am aware of), suddenly the US
layout is activated. What's more, if I switch back to Swiss German, I loose
the AltGr combination (for those who don't have this key, it enables an
alternate character, most importantly for me the keay that gives 2 and "
also gives @ thith AltGr. Without it, I must use the US keyboard to get @
(and I use it in some passwords...).
Now the question is, where could I find some tracing of what happened?
I can also add that I upgraded from 3.5.13 ro R14, and that if I open the
system menu, then Trinity Control Center, then any subitem, most items are
shown two times.
For example, in "Regional & Accessibility", I get two time "Keyboard Layout".
However, only the second opens the settings, the other does not react. So I'm
wondering if someting went wrong with the upgrade.
Both .kde et .tde exist, however only .tde/config contains kcontrolrc. there
is, however, an /opt/kde3

All,
I just wanted to let you know that all TDE services are restored. What
was originally scheduled as a 6 - 12 hour maintenance window ended up as
an overhaul of one of the oldest servers due to various failing hardware
components.
Thank you for your patience during this outage!

Hi all!
The last 2-3 days I get a timeout on http://www.trinitydesktop.org. Is it just me or is it down?

Can I add users via KControl? If so, how? My exploring has drawn a blank.
I personally always use the command line for this type of system
administration.

Hello
I think I reported this some time ago.
(I am still using 3.5.13 but I think I have seen the problem in Release 14)
Either in the kcontrol (center) or in systemsettings when clicking on
the user module (user management) I obtain
Kcontrol center

And in systemsettings:

Is there any change to fix this in the foreseeable future?
