Source Tarball Mirrors

High again, I remember mirror servers being a topic multiple times recently, but iirc, that was about system specific repositories. Now I'm trying to download 14.0.2 to compile it myself, and I have (been) navigated to http://ftp.fau.de/trinity/releases/R14.0.2/downloads.html In the second-last line it says: The high speed file mirror currently in use was selected at random. All mirror information is available on the main Trinity project page at https://www.trinitydesktop.org. I don't find any mirror info there... not even the word "mirror". I also searched the wiki, with an astonishing little number of hits, one related to GIT ("check out the entire source tree from mirror"), another to "Building KDE 3.5 with Konstruct", which appears to be quite obsolete, despite it's more or less recent timestamp from 2014-05-07, and the last one about "ULab NIUInstallNotes", where I guess that it's not about the source tarballs. I also looked through other pages, without finding any hint about mirrors, so my question: there seems to be a list of mirrors maintained, but it doesn't seem to be visible to the end users, only to scripts, on which the user has to rely? I'm asking, because connections to the mirror at fau.de are not particularly stable from my home net. Using "wget -c", mileages vary, but the per-session volume is below 200kB, which makes it tiresome to download a 200MB archive. Also, the mirror can't be choosen so randomly, since I _always_ end up at fau.de. Any links? [trinity-users] r14 mouse pointer missing in Jessie

Fresh Jessie installation about a week ago, Trinity added tonight. Using startx rather than any DM. Mouse can be used to select and click, but no way to tell where pointer is until it hovers something that changes on hover. Same problem in IceWM. Booting openSUSE Leap instead, pointer works normally in IceWM. Both evdev and mouse input drivers are installed. Google can't find anything helpful except WRT *buntu, rsyslog, arm or raspberry pi. imaping an existing kmail maild atabase

Greetings all; There are times when I would find it expedient to be able to run kmail on one of the other machines I have trinity installed on, which isn't all of them. How hard would it be to setup a server on this machine, which has R14.0.2 on it, all working as a pop client from 2 external mail accounts I have, referencing the nominally 12Gb of an email corpus here, so I could access it from a kmail session on another machine, still on my local network? Preliminary stable builds on the move

Hi everyone, who is currently uses preliminary stable builds repository as you have surely noticed, the final R14.0.2 was released. At this time packages in preliminary stable builds repository and official R14.0.2 are both based on an identical source packages. If you used the preliminary stable builds only temporarily, you can now switch to official packages. This is the best time because here are waiting updates to upload into prelinary stable builds. You have been warned ;) If you are using prelinary stable builds deliberately, you can look forward to that soon will launch the first upload of packages for the new target R14.0.3. mobile phone sync with TDE - how the pro is doing it

Hi I have one very important question as well. How are you guys/pros syncing your mobile phones with TDE. Years ago I worked on opensync, which died because of syncml. I am also following the story of syncevolution, but they provided only support for kde4+ I recall the time (must be 10y ago) when I had no issue to sync up my palm III with KDE ... and after this all went wrong. Since the time I have a smart phone it does not work for me. I would never use an external service that is not under my control, but I could run a service on my public server. (Working) solutions are highly appreciated thanks in advance regards

How to ignore dependency for apt-get update

Hi, do you have a handy answer/link to this issue with google-chrome in TDE? I installed it forcing ignore dependency and it works just fine without this library # apt-get upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: google-chrome-stable : Depends: libappindicator1 but it is not installed Description-en: allow applications to export a menu into the panel A library to allow applications to export a menu into the panel. Based on KSNI it also works in KDE and will fallback to generic Systray support if none of those are available. I think there should be a way to remove the dependency from the package, I know how to do it before installation, but is there (I'm sure there is) a way to do it after the installation.
