[trinity-users] KTTS - Does it work for anyone?

I filed a bug: http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2657 I can't get KTTSMgr to find any voices on two different installations on Stretch or two different installations on openSUSE 42.1. TDEMacro missing while compiling tqtinterface

Hi, I was compiling trinity from git. First TQT, and now I have a problem with tqtinterface: CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:27 (include): include could not find load file: TDEMacros CMake Error at ConfigureChecks.cmake:25 (tde_message_fatal): Unknown CMake command "tde_message_fatal". Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:29 (include) -- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred! [trinity-users] sound in stretch on HDMI only works in VLC, analog only elsewhere

Via manual selection in VLC, which offers about 20+ devices to choose from, sound via HDMI works. However, system sounds and Youtube in FF only work via the analog pin jack. TDE control center makes no HDMI device offering. Anyone here know the secret to making HDMI default sound source everywhere? Each of the following in /etc/modprobe.d/local.conf had no effect: options snd_hda_intel index=0,1 options snd_hda_intel index=1,0 options snd index=0 options snd index=1 options snd_hda_intel index=0 options snd_hda_intel index=1 In a similar vein, instructions on http://superuser.com/questions/626606/how-to-make-alsa-pick-a-preferred-sou… either kept analog sound working, but killed HDMI/VLC sound, or had no apparent effect. Instructions on http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/HDA_Analyzer various fail as user. As root, sound doesn't work at all. Shift+arrow in Konsole

Hi all, recently I encountere a problem with using Konsole. For some reason using Shift+<arrow key> stopped working in Emacs. At first I thought Emacs is at fault but a quick investigation revealed that using Shift+<arrow> simply does not work in Konsole. With google's help I found a solution [1], which was to edit keytab file found in /opt/trinity/share/apps/konsole/. An interesting fact is that I found five files in that directory, but on my system Konsole is using a key set named "XFree (4.x.x)" and that set is not found in the above directory. I scanned the whole disk for files ending with *keytab but found only these five files in konsole directory. Does anyone know where is the definition of "XFree (4.x.x)" key set? [trinity-users] font/UI sizes in VLC tiny

Does anyone know if VLC's UI can be made to obey Trinity's font size settings? I have font size set to 14 in qtconfig (~/.config/Trolltech.conf), and QT's own settings window has fonts same size as Trinity's size 14 fonts. Never mind I was confused I completely missed the fact that is I had tdepowersave I don't need kpowersave. I just had to launch the program to get it in the dock. Debian Stretch kpowersave issue

When I try to install kpowersave nohal it tells me tdepowersave has to be installed and it is broken. Firefox build

I've been unhappy with the default Ubuntu build of firefox for a long time. I thought I'd try building it from source but it's apparently been a long time since untar; ./configure; make; make install was a thing. With one of the recent updates, the window decorations changed, too, and I find the new style dialogs annoying (I have no idea if it was a Firefox patch or a TDE patch that changed something). I also get Asian characters, perhaps Chinese, when I copy something from the TDE side of my environment across Synergy and paste it to my Macbook, but ignore that foolishness for now. So I've installed mercurial and I've installed autoconf-2.13 (because past that, autoconf is too cool for school and isn't actually backwards compatible with stuff real projects used) and now I've hit gtk+. plaws@toto3:mozilla-central $ sudo apt-get install gtk+ Reading package lists... So what's the 1) easiest way for me to satisfy the demands of the build script that 2) doesn't completely dork up my Trinity installation? KPowersave stopped working

Hi all, I have TDE 3.5.13.2 installed on Debian 7.10. Some time ago (probably after one of security updates) my KPowerSave stopped working - it does not allow me to set power scheme nor does it recognize whether the laptop is running on battery or A/C. These features still work in other programs (eg. htop recognizes whether I am running on battery or A/C, I can use cpufreq-set to set CPU speed) so this is not a system-wide breakage. Patience in the key here. I wish I had your optimism, I'm really amazed how little traction TDE has, even more so Konqueror - thanks in part to the Dolphin over Konqueror boondoggle. I don't know the current state, but the Konqueror webkit engine (option in KDE4?) wasn't reliably better. In any case, it's a welcome surprise to hear that someone else still finds Konqueror indispensable.
