Hi,
I stayed with 8.04 since it came out now and wonder how to best procedd to
9.10 with kde3.
should I upgrade to 9.04/kde3 first, then move on or directly go 9.10?
Any known tripwires I should be sware of?

I've decided that on one of my machines I can use KDE4, so I'm trying
to remove KDE3 on that system. One package won't uninstall and it is
messing up my updates:

Hello,
does someone know who to tell a configure script where to find the KDE headers?
When I try to compile a certain KDE application, configure fails with the following error:
[...]
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
I have the following KDE devel packages installed:
- kdebase-kde3-dev
- kdelibs-kde3-dev
Am I missing any package?
I tried the prefix returned by "kde-config --prefix":
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3
But the error remains the same.
Do you have any ideas?
Regards,
Stefan
Hi everyone,
If I'm doing a brand new installation, and I will use Gnome in the end, but
with some KDE applications, what is best?
Install the ISO for Kubuntu 9.10 + KDE 3.5 and then install Gnome Desktop
or
Install official Ubuntu release and follow
http://apt.pearsoncomputing.net/install.html
?
Thanks in advance
:-)
Pas encore. Dans 2 ou 3 heures peut-etre.
| Fine ! is the new Karmic with kde3 already available for download ?

Hi all,
the message is self explaining : when booting my computer, kdm autologin
fails. I have to enter by hand my password to get into kde.
Any idea where the problem is ?
(I'm using kubuntu-kde3.5 jaunty)
Regards,
Denis
Hi all,
sorry, it's me again for another problem.
though I installed gtk-qt-engine-kde3 and configured it with kcontrol to
be used for gtk2 applications, nothing happens, all my gtk2 apps still
have the default gtk2 look.
Anyone knows where the problem might come from ?
Thanks in advance,
Denis
