Hello,
Since I have reinstalled a Debian on another pc, when I click in the Trinity menu, configuration, network, I receive this graphic message : "The configuration can not be loaded, an unexpected error occured".
The network works fine, the network card is recognised, on enp0s25.
How to obtain an correct answer from the configuration network ? (as before, capacity to configure the network graphically).
Thanks,
André

"net-tools" was already installed, I reinstalled the package, and idem, same answer.

I try to launch network-admin in konsole mode, root and user, and below, the answer : "(network-admin:2736): Liboobs-WARNING **: There was an unknown error communicating with the backends: Failed to execute program org.freedesktop.SystemToolsBackends: Permission denied".
Thanks,
André

May be you need some group membership - are you in netdev? Not sure where this dbus message comes from. I don't find "org.freedesktop.SystemToolsBackends"
I also don't find network-admin. I am on Debian and it looks like you are not. dbus permissions are also set in the /etc/dbus-1 Look there for the service to find out what is causing the problem
regards

"org.freedesktop.SystemToolsBackends" is in /etc/dbus-1/

This command comes from "net-tools" package...
I am on Debian and it looks like you are not :
I'm on Debian Stretch :-) "network-admin" is in directory /usr/bin/
dbus permissions are also set in the /etc/dbus-1 :
How to change dbus permissions ?
I solved the problem (not really, but ok) by reinstalling dbus, (install --reinstall), and put the command "network" in the menu by "launch in root". Now I have the graphic window to make the configurations.
If I choose to remove dbus with --purge and reinstallation, the system imposes to remove all the Trinity packages.
Regards,
André

Hi André,
Ubuntu 14 here, not Debian, but my command from
when I click in the Trinity menu, configuration, network,
[TDE menu >> Settings >> Network Settings] is:
tdecmshell kcm_knetworkconfmodule
[TDE menu >> Settings >> Network Connections] is:
nm-connection-editor
which is from package 'network-manager-gnome' so probably not of use to you.
Hopefully the TDE info below might help?
Best, Michael

You need these libraries and binaries to run TDE applications.
Several scripts included in tdebase-bin, related to the handling of SMB and NFS shares, require the perl-suid package to work properly.
This package is part of TDE, and a component of the TDE libraries module. See the 'tde-trinity' and 'tdelibs-trinity' packages for more information.
