I personally always use the command line for this type of system

I concur with Lisi on that, it's easier and quicker to type adduser as
root than to go through the GUI. horses for courses, YMMV etc etc :)
I am with Lisi on this too, the only thing I can see where a graphical
interface might come in handy is more of an /etc/ group thing than user.
Specifically, I think it would help the user alleviate his excedrin
headache in those cases where the security people have decided that the
common user should not be able to use the dvd burner, or, heaven forbid
it still works, a floppy drive or usb key. I went thru all that with a
much older distro that was adament that selinux had to be installed and
working. I drew the line on that distro after 2 weeks of fidgiting with
it, trying to get some real work done, when it denied me, the use and
account holder, the right to launch an editor to reply to a message
thread I had originated 2 days prior.
No install I have done since has ever had enough selinux in it for a
bloodhound to find. Perhaps I am a bit paranoid, but the support guy
whose initials are SS, I also came to the conclusion was actually a
plant, on the NSA payroll.
Back to the subject, a graphical interface that would allow the user to
be added to the groups he is interested in, and should normally be
allowed by savvy admins to use those facilities, would simplify said
admins job at keeping track of who can do what.
My $0.02 (in 1934 dollars of course). ;-)
