On my laptop Lenovo g550 brightness control via kpowersave set active scheme and via laptop Fn key doesn't work.It works in gnome 3 and kde4.

In all likelihood this is a HAL problem. We do have a developer working on a HAL replacement, but there is no estimated integration release yet.
