Hi all!
I just ran into a problem with the color of the text in the adressline of konqueror: The text is always black and I have not found a way to change it. Also the color of the text under the icons in the konquerors settings dialog turn to black on mouseover, but never change back again when mouse is leaving. Please see the attached image, I've marked the spots :)
Could somebody with a dark theme please check if it's just me?
Nik
Oh my ... sorry for the mess, looks like a konquereor instace was running in the background all the time. Logging out and in again brought the correct colors :)

greets!
Nik had a color problem in konqueror, I have one in VLC. this is in a variant of Trinity called q4os running Buster and VLC 3.0.10.
if I open 'multiple files' menu and add video files, the line for the first file is legible, the next line is black (not 'blank' but black) and this alternates.
in fact a similar phenomenon occurs if I go to Tools --> Preferences --> Show Settings (All).
here I get the alternating readable/black line but if I click on the black line it's readable but as a white font against a blue background.
I am using the default skin; other skins don't help. no other application I'm using shows these symptoms.
there are probably questions to answer about the display manager and so on but I can't anticipate them so I await them or advice.
thank you!

Hi!
VLC uses GTK, you can play around with the settings using lxappearance. But you might need to install gnome/gtk themes, too.

ok, wasn't sure if vlc was gtk; loaded up lxappearance but nothing of clear (to me) relevance, experimenting so far hasn't helped. I probably need to log out and in.
I'll look around in the gtk config files too.
flying blind. good tip though - gtk, thank you.

yes, not the best resolution but it's not art:
here is the window for 'multiple files' selection: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13d060QVRfN9aVStgKyB_sPmPQ70vdId1/view?usp=sharing
here is the window for 'advanced preferences': https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aVkgKLlLPF8ajxeTh_DeFPDHgco_E3yU/view?usp=sharing
note how in the 'advanced preferences' window 'Network Sync' has been selected yielding white font against blue background.

ok ... check if gtk-qt-engine-trinity / gtk2-engines-gtk-qt-trinity / gtk3-tqt-engine-trinity are installed. If yes, uninstall. Check if the checkmark in kcontrol "appereance/colors/apply colors to non-TDE ..." (free translation fom german TDE) is set. if yes, remove. lxappereance: select clearlooks. Then try again.

hat geklappt!
so I didn't have the gtk engines code installed but unselecting 'apply colors to non-TDE applications' worked.
(I think wicd crashed but reloading it looks ok.)
I haven't tried the lxappearance suggestion but no need for it now.
case closed thanks to you!
