Hi List,
I installed kde-trinity and was about to configure konquerors file settings. The goal was to show previews of the picture of an inserted sdcard. Somewhere I tried to switch the file assosiation tothe embedded viewer. From that point on I don't get the settings menu anymore. If I open it via settings- configure konqueror I get a window with no content and a title "empty page". Any advice how to debug that?
It's a debian wheezy, from which I try to run konqueror inside a LXDE session, many because TDE isn't starting at all... (getting a logout while/after TDE ist initializing peripherials)
Just sumbled over another problem (perhaps related to the first one): unmounting removable devices (usbsticks, sdcards) won't work. Automount works while selecting the device vis "go-storage-devices" Means you can rightclick and choose "remove savely", but the device stays mounted. Unmounting from command line works (even as user)

I am using Wheezy amd64 . Right know, I am running 3.5.12, 3.5.13, & the next release R14 , without issues.
Failure of TDE to start indicates an issue, somewhere . Probaly best to troubleshoot that than run LXDE, or other DE, and expect things to. work.
I have tried, briefly..not much extra effort, to run TDE apps under XFCE. There are PATH changes (apps & libs) that have to be manually added.

I start running LXDE after TDE didn't start. And have no idea where to look for troubleshooting. /var/log/messages doesn't seam to notice any trouble (did a tail -f on the first text console before starting TDE on F7).
At the first startup with a new user (which I added just for testing) let you run the wizzard for the first startup and at some point, it all fails back to the kdm login.

Try to uninstall package kgtk3-trinity.
aptitude search kgtk gives me:
p kgtk3-qt3-trinity
so, no improvement. any suggestions to get more debug-code? /var/log/messages is empty to this issue..

OK, we are now reaching the blind spots of my linux knowledge, but as much I understand this, each line should look simmelar to this one:
libkrsync.so.0 => /opt/trinity/lib/libkrsync.so.0 (0x00007f4abf1eb000)
assuming thats right, the possibly problematic line are these: linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff29189000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f4abfc8c000)
everything else points "somewhere"

After thinking about which reasons may cause the abortion at the startup uf the system serices I was thinking about hardware issues and installed these two: firmware-linux-free firmware-linux-nofree
And now everything seams to run just fine.
