Hi
I just upgrade (new installation) from Kubuntu 10.04 to 14.04, I followed the instructions as found in https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/UbuntuInstall however I obtained the following error (after a while) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/kubuntu-default-settings-trinity_4%3a14.0.3-0ubuntu14.04.0+0_all.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
what can I do?
thanks

Please, you can find some detailed information in the dpkg statement? Previous information is not sufficient to determine what led to the error.
Thank you

How can I provide more information? > Thank you

Thank you for your directions. The conflict between the packages was fixed in tde-packaging git commit 54337e78 (master) and 8f36ed71 (r14.0.x). For your information, the updated packages are already available in the Preliminary stable builds repository.

If you want to use the Preliminary stable builds, it is necessary to change the apt sources and import the gpg key - see

it seems that I could run
sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite
kubuntu-default-settings-trinity_4%3a14.0.3-0ubuntu14.04.0+0_all.deb
but I am not sure whether this is a good idea

I looks to me like if you substitute kubuntu-default-settings-trinity where you read google-chrome-stable on http://askubuntu.com/questions/688338/e-sub-process-usr-bin-dpkg-returned-an... you may solve your problem.

Thanks, I will try.
The situations still is very odd, as I answered in my previous post, I made a fresh Kubuntu installation, without adding any 3rd party software and followed the installation instructions of trinity. It seems like a generic problem and I am wondering if others have faced it as well.

the problem is that kubuntu-default-settings-trinity is not installed, in fact it cannot be installed. So there are now traces left of this package I could delete.
it seems that the package is in conflict with kubuntu-default-settings, but i don't know how to proceed.
