My parents, who are a bit visually impaired (and

managed (somehow) to wipe out some bits of kmail, probably by dragging
bits of window edges around. It's a bit difficult to discover, because I
can't easily get to their computer, because they live a long way away, so
any reset instructions will have to be given by telephone.
Is there any easy way (see above) of setting kmail back to its default
appearance without losing settings such as server type/passwords/filters?
Since they are using imap, I guess that folder lists will be ok.
cheers

The kmailrc (located in .trinity/share/config/) Has a Geometry
section. Maybe you could delete those lines. As you suggested though
it may be difficult to instruct your parents how to do this. Do you
have a way to vnc inh? that is what I recommend do. If you have ssh
and VNC setup (if not now; but in the future) resolving problems is a
bit less of a hassle ;)
There may also be websites that offer similar functionality.
And if it is too complicated to install vnc and tweak it to find a local
network behind a router you might look into teamviewer on
.
It's most easy to set up.
