Hi,
I have just installed exe linux with the Trinity desktop (exe is basically
debian 7) and I am trying to share a local USB printer (HP Deskjet 1000).
I checked the "Shared" box in CUPS but it still can't be found by other
networked computers.
I installed system-config-printer and it opened showing that the printer is
shared.
Any ideas?
Also, I was going to include the version of Trinity in the first line, but I
don't know how to find that. I usually open synaptic to find what versions are
installed, but it's not listed under the name Trinity.

Have you also done this:

If necessary, do that for all networked printers. Not feasible if there are
100 or more! I only have a small network.
It solved the same problem for me, but of course YMMV. I don't know whether
it would have solved things for the chap with the problem on the Debian list,
because he didn't try it, and also didn't solve his problem.

Thanks. I've only had it installed for three days. But I used KDE 3 for a few
years in a Mepis installation. I'm still finding things.

Yes, that is where I first was able to check the "Share this printer" box.
Go into help in any TDE application (I am currently in KMail) and click
on "About Trinity".
Thank you. I'm using 3.5.13.2. That's what came with the exe linux install
image.
