When I try to remove kdeedu-trinity, I shall remove kde-trinity as well. Is that o. k.?
A longer answer :-), you can check what will happen when you install or remove a page with 'apt-cache depends' & apt-cache rdepends'
~#apt-cache depends kde-trinity kde-trinity Depends: kde-core-trinity Depends: kdeedu-trinity Depends: kdegames-trinity Depends: kdetoys-trinity Depends: kdeaccessibility-trinity Depends: kdeaddons-trinity Depends: kdeadmin-trinity Depends: kdeartwork-trinity Depends: kdegraphics-trinity Depends: kdemultimedia-trinity Depends: kdenetwork-trinity Depends: kdepim-trinity Depends: kdeutils-trinity Depends: kdewebdev-trinity Depends: desktop-base-trinity Suggests: <kde-i18n-trinity> Suggests: <x-window-system-core> xorg Suggests: kdesudo-trinity Suggests: debian-kgtk-trinity
~$apt-cache rdepends kde-trinity kde-trinity Reverse Depends: desktop-base-trinity
You are dealing with 'meta -packages' which help with installs but don't remove anything when you remove them.
I'm just courious: is ther any known number how many people use trinity? Maybe the number of downloads of "kde-trinity"?

I cannot answer this question but I wanted to remark that I have seen a fair number of references to it in online discussions of desktop environments.
also, there are ways to $upport the project.

I use it on my test machines (several dedicated to Ark Linux, Yoper, Unity &trinity testing). But on my laptop and primary machines, I use Ark Linux 2008.1 which uses KDE 3.5.10. We are hoping to port Trinity to the newest ISO once we get the basics set up.
Hope that helps,
Kate

This is currently unknown but is expected to be upwards of 1000 users based on download volume from one of the mirror sites. An unofficial goal of 3.5.13 is to get better statistics/tracking into place so that we can get a better estimate of this number.

I really think we can only have rough estimates about that kind of information. Even the Debian project cannot count the number of installed distros: 1 iso download=1, 10, ..., N installations? 1 aptitude update/upgrade = 1, 10, ..., N upgrades (via apt-cacher)?
In fact this is a really difficult question to ask. Of course, with better tracking tools, the estimations will become more precise or cover particular topics, but still...
Tools such as "The Linux Counter" (http://counter.li.org/) also exist but require at least a manual intervention (then a script can be used). Debian also have a package popularity contest (http://popcon.debian.org/), etc. and all of these things are really fun indeed!
Go on Trinity, tell us how much you're popular!
