I have a system at home running Kubuntu 10.10 (maverick) running Trinity before it was
actually Trinity (3.5.12 - packages are all *-kde3). What is the best way to update this
to a more modern version of Ubuntu, say 12.04 LTS?
Same question for my work system, but it's at 11.04/Natty Narwhal with Trinity 3.5.13.
My days as a Solaris admin tell me (scream at me) "don't do an upgrade, do a
fresh install!", but I think I'd rather not.

New subject: [trinity-users] Recommended upgrade path?
This is something I am going to have to deal with soon. I am currently
thinking U12.04 64 bit. Vaguely considering Mint...
I will be doing a new install as much as I hate all the work it is going to
take to get back to as smooth a setup as I have now (U10.10 and Trinity
before it was Trinity :-)).
Peter, the screaming sysadmin won here :-). Been bit badly doing
"upgrades" too many times.
Any words of wisdom, pointers or anything for someone doing this would be
greatly appreciated.
