Hello
Using Kubuntu 10.04 and trinity 3.5.13.2 I encountered the following problem.
If I change the language environment from English to Spanish via kpersonalizer,
- the icons become smaller
- some applications such firefox crash with a signal 11 type error and a reference to gtk-qt-trinity. However kgtk-qt3-trinity is not installed.
After removing the .trinity directory and restart trinity, but sticking to English everything is ok
Has anybody found similar problems?
Thanks
Uwe Brauer
Just out of interest you are aware that 10.04 (Desktop versions) are no longer supported aren't you. I know TDE is supported but the underlying OS has not had updates for over a year (unless of course you are running the server version in which case it is supported until April 2015).

Do I have a deja-vu here? I recall to have a similar discussion some time ago.
- short answer: because it works[1]
- long answer: I only find LTS releases acceptable.
However 12.04, a natural choice, suffers from bug which concerns «xpdf» and is not acceptable for me.
Please enjoy yourself when reading the depressing story in:

14.04 would be a candidate[2] but I have to test its Trinity compatibility still.

Footnotes: [1] which includes useful, but no longer maintained packages such a xmms, or mgdiff or even matlab version 2008. Besides this I have to say that some authors of free or non-free software tend to violate the 11th commitment: thou shalt not break backwards compatibility.
[2] but I have to see whether it will support all my old hardware. I am trapped with old thinkpad models since Lenovo deliberately replaced its best feature: its keyboard by a far inferior one.
I apologise if I have had this conversation with you before, my memory isn't what it used to be.
