had this system running for a while now, but somehow i never used kaddressbook. I thought i had it configured correctly, but, since it doesn't work, i done something wrong. The standard error is " no resource available". googling for it helps very little and everything reverts to kde4, even the "about kmail" help tag link!!!! any pointers to properly configuring kaddressbook would be appreciated. thanks in advance, d.

I had the same problem a while back. I believe I fixed it by opening ~/.trinity/share/config/tderesources/contact/stdrc
in a text editor and changing "ResourceIsActive=false" to "ResourceIsActive=true"
Best regards,
Andy

You should always do this via the manager (Kontact or Korganizer). This is only one click for the user.

Thank you both! I wasn't aware of either of these. I had solved my problem by tediously going through config files on two partitions, one with a working Addressbook, the other with a non-working Addressbook.
Still lots of nooks and crannies of TDE that I have yet to explore. :-)
